Magical Paths Begging To Be Walked

Roads and paths pervade our literature, poetry, artwork, linguistic expressions and music. Even photographers can’t keep their eyes (and lenses) off of a beautiful road or path, which is why we collected this list of 28 amazing photos of paths.

Paths like these have a powerful grip on the human imagination – they can bring adventure, promise and change or solitude, peace and calm. There’s nothing like a walk down a beautiful path to clear your head – or to fill it with ideas!

I’ll leave you with an excellent quote from J. R. R. Tolkien’s works while you enjoy these images; “It’s a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don’t keep your feet, there’s no knowing where you might be swept off to.

Imagine how it would look if the Orion nebula is only four light years away - the distance the nearest star is to us, instead of 1,300 light years. It would be so bright that we wouldn’t be aware of the dark sky. We wouldn’t see other stars. The whole world would be the Orion nebula and the sun.

Angular Style Illustrations

(by Perry Rowe)

A set of illustations in a style that relates to the initial stages of my drawing process.

Whenever I begin a drawing, I always block in basic/ overall shapes of a subject, then continue refining and adding detail. These illustrations are based on the initial blocking stages which includes analysing angles of the shape to create the overall form. Every angle within each of these illustrations are matched.

The experimentation of cutting out each part and painting then seperately like a jigsaw created a nice texture to the illustrations.
